Pamela Haynie

Pamela Haynie – Volunteer

Pamela Haynie is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and has earned a Bachelor Degree in Music Therapy in August of 1992. Mrs. Haynie also attended The University of Texas at Arlington and Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she completed her core music curriculum.

Mrs. Haynie began working with seniors in a healthcare environment in 1992 as an Activity Director after her graduation and began to target the need for musical reminiscence within the senior healthcare environment. It was during this time she composed a song (“The Nursing Homes Blues”) for her residents to help them express themselves and their grievances after a Resident Council meeting prior to a State audit in 1992. She began to market and present her ideas to other facilities and, as a result of her efforts, soon opened her own Music Therapy practice (Medicine Music Productions) in 1993.

Mrs. Haynie has participated in Memory Walks for the Alzheimer’s Association and has been on the steering committee for the Senior Games of The Woodlands for the past several years. Pamela now has an extensive list of clientele in nursing homes, adult day care facilities, personal care homes, rehabilitation hospitals, independent and assisted living residences as well as Alzheimer communities all over the greater Houston area and beyond.
